Not going to give any spoilers away but for those that saw it, what do you think?

Don't piss the police off in wisconsin.
The whole case was an utter shambles and if he wasn't framed, then they made a right pigs ear of the investigation and evidence collection.
It was obviously made from a defence standpoint and was made to get you to think he was innocent (which I do).
You can tell that a few of the prosecution definitely had it in for him, that Ken Kratz couldn't stop smiling at the press conference explaining what [he thought] happened.

Brilliant documentary either way

Y2smif, I agree plus Brendan too appeared to be well and truly stitched up.

Re: Making a Murderer
I have just watched it fully and can not believe what a stitch up it was.

I think the first thing that was proved is that they couldn't prove beyond all reasonable doubt that they were guilty, and secondly the evidence of police tampering was appalling.

You rightly say it was made from a defence point of view but they really seemed to answer a lot of the main points the police had.

The murder wasn't shown enough and the evidence not talked about as much as i felt they should though.

Re: Making a Murderer
Unbelievable program. Was hooked. I watched the west Memphis case yesterday too.

They were in a similar position. False imprisonment for a crime they didn't commit for 18 years.

The only way the state allowed their release was if they signed a deal to admit they were guilty but meant they walked away from prison and were unable to sue the state for what happened.

Steven Avery was in the middle of a 36 million law suit. If that's not incentive not to kill someone, and incentive to frame someone I don't know what is. I think he's innocent. What they did to the kid was sickening too.

Shameful stuff.

Re: Making a Murderer
I've just seen Avery found guilty, can't watch anymore.

The fat chief prosecutor, I want him to come to some serious harm.

How can you give a press conference saying that the woman was mutilated, tied up etc etc then just not use any of it in court.

Absolutely stinks!!!!!!!

The moral of the story is don't chuck a cat onto the fire when you're younger.

Superb programme, I've been telling everybody to watch it.

Davenport - it's worth watching the last two episodes to see the fat bloke (Kratz) get a bit of a humiliation.

Been looking into it a bit more though, and while it's clear the police were dodgy as fuck, the documentary leaves out a few things - for instance Averys sweat DNA was found under the bonnet of the car.

Be interested to see if anything happens now the series is getting a lot of attention.

Re: Making a Murderer
I'm 5 episodes in.

After the 3rd episode I was pretty sure he was guilty. Having watched the start of the trial, I'm not so sure.

Either way, the role of the State raises serious concerns.

I did the same but watched the last two anyway. The people involved helping are the same for the West Memphis 3 that got off in the end.

That poor kid Brendan, thick as shit. "Yeah?"

Katz got sacked last year for sending mucky texts to the bird of some bloke he was trying prosecute.

flyingV 11:52 Mon Jan 4
Re: Making a Murderer
Davenport - yeah that's the humiliation but I was referring to.

Sending filth texts to domestic abuse victims. The state knew about it for over a year but only took action when the press got hold of it.

My favourite Katz bit is when he told the jury in his closing statement "the presumption of innocence is only for innocent people"

For all the issues with our legal system, the American justice system is unbelievable. I haven't watched this yet as I've not got netflix, but I assume the general issues of it are similar to this story, which I think really should be more prominent:
